The Phoenician began as a seed of an idea back in 1985 when a gentleman by the name of Charles Keating had the idea to build a multi-million dollar luxury resort “that would display the elegance and sophistication of Europe, standing out as a sparkling gem in the Sonoran Desert.” He purchased over 250 acres at the base of Camelback Mountain to take advantage of dramatic views of the Scottsdale city skyline. From there on, no expense was spared, and no detail was overlooked. Builders used only the finest materials like Italian white Carrara marble, 24-karat gold ceilings, and authentic Mother-of-Pearl tiles. Since opening, The Phoenician has maintained its reputation as one of the top luxury resorts in the Southwest, and consistent upgrades and renovations have continuously made it the ultimate desert getaway.

The Phoenician offers a variety of venues and locations for both ceremonies and receptions, so you can curate your wedding day to look and feel exactly how you envision it.
They have three sites that are well suited for an incredible outdoor ceremony: The Orchid Lawn, The Canyon Lawn, and The Canyon Patio. The Orchid Lawn has room for up to 250 guests. Located adjacent to the hotel’s beautiful pools, it’s surrounded by lush greenery and views of the serene Orchid Waterfalls. The Canyon Lawn can also accommodate up to 250 people and offers an authentic desert experience with views of the rugged mountain terrain and the distant valley beyond. Lastly, the Canyon Patio is the perfect space for a more intimate ceremony with 20 to 60 guests, with majestic views of Camelback Mountain and a sparkling waterfall.
The Phoenician Wedding Reception Spaces
When it’s time to party, the Phoenician also has an array of venues to deliver exactly what you want. The Grand Ballroom is the largest indoor space at the resort, with room for anywhere between 150 and 1,000 guests. Its iconic ambiance is one of grandeur, adorned with crystal chandeliers and a neutral color palette to accommodate your unique wedding decor. The Camelback Ballroom is a secluded celebration space with its own entrance and outdoor terrace with room for up to 800 people.
If an outdoor reception is more your style, the East Lawn and Patio offers a beautiful and expansive outdoor space just steps away from the Orchid Lawn ceremony area.
