Phoenix, AZ 85013

Located in Phoenix, Arizona, The Newton is a historic venue conveniently situated near the light rail midtown and downtown districts. This unique venue formerly functioned as the Beef Eaters restaurant and is now part of an innovative, adaptive reuse project that allows multiple tenants to use the space to serve the community. It also still carries the name of its original founder, Jay Newton, and is a modern venue with historic charm.

Details of the Grounds

The Newton is a unique venue with two indoor event spaces. It offers modern amenities, a warm ambiance, and historical touches celebrating the building’s roots. Many of the original space’s features have undergone restoration and adapted to suit the current venue, adding plenty of historic character. This includes the beautiful exposed beams of the interior, chandeliers and fireplaces! All of which bring together a perfect mix of modern and historic designs.

The larger event space is The Commons. This functions as the primary event location. It can accommodate up to 150 guests and features an exposed brick fireplace, antique chandeliers, and the First Draft Book Bar. The bar is a stunning hardwood bar that runs the length of the room, giving some of a saloon-type vibe with modern touches. This room can also function as both ceremony and reception location!

Furthermore, the smaller room can be used with The Commons and serve as a bridal suite, wedding party suite, or staging area. This is a meeting stylee room that features lots of open space, plenty of high windows for natural light that photographers love and a beautifully rustic shiplap wall.

From exposed brick walls to elegant chandeliers to a warm and inviting fireplace, The Newton comprises stunning, charming details that make the perfect backdrop for wedding day photos. As an Arizona native, I  know and love this part of town. There are tons of nooks and crannies that offer beautifully intimate and special moments to capture. Most recently, I had the opportunity to capture an inclusive wedding celebrating a stunning LGBTQ couple at this venue! I always strive for my photography to reflect respect and appreciation for the LGBTQ community and their love stories. Because they deserve the exact same care and dedication as any other wedding!
