About The El Chorro Wedding Venue
Nestled into Paradise Valley is a gorgeous world-class dining experience known as El Chorro. Originally built as a school for girls in 1934, it was purchased several years later and converted into a restaurant and lodge that hosted celebrity guests like Clark Gable and Milton Berle. In 1973, a long-time bartender and cocktail waitress purchased El Churro. She worked hard to expand their beloved restaurant and keep it open year-round.
A long-time local philanthropist who worked hard with her business partners to revitalize the existing buildings and expand the indoor/outdoor dining spaces purchased El Chorro in 2009. At that time, El Chorro received a LEED Green certification and transformed into a stunning event space.
Today, El Chorro is known for its exquisite dining, stunning mountain surroundings, and elegant event spaces. In fact, Arizona Bride Magazine just awarded them the 2023 Best Phoenix & Greater Area Venue!
Details of the Grounds
Furthermore, El Chorro has several gorgeous event species perfect for breathtaking ceremonies and receptions. They pair The Event Lawn and Casa Paloma for larger weddings and the Herb Garden and Classroom Bar & Bocce Lawn work for more intimate gatherings.
For an outdoor reception, the Event Lawn offers spectacular views of the Camelback and Mummy Mountains. You and up to 250 guests can gather on the lush, manicured lawn surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The stage area is the perfect setting for a romantic vow exchange where everyone can bear witness to your union.
Following your ceremony, you can move the celebration to Casa Paloma, a gorgeous indoor venue with spectacular views, dreamy patios, and colorful gardens. There is plenty of room for your guests to dine, dance, and socialize indoors or outdoors, and all of the modern elegance and refinement you’re looking for in a wedding venue.
Smaller weddings can host ceremonies in the Herb Garden, a pastoral, intimate setting with space for up to 100 guests. The Herb Garden sets your vow exchange against a pair of rich wooden doors and a white wall covered in crawling ivy. Then, for your reception, gather with your guests in the Classroom Bar & Bocce Lawn. These spaces feature a gorgeous outdoor fireplace, romantic lighting, and, of course, spectacular mountain views.
