Desert Botanical Garden, located in Phoenix, Arizona, has a history dating back to 1939 when a small group of passionate local citizens saw the need to conserve the area’s beautiful desert environment.
One of the founders was Swedish botanist Gustaf Stark, who joined with local, like-minded residents dedicated to saving the desert. The Garden’s presence grew in the community. Almost eight decades later, the Desert Botanical Garden has blossomed into a living museum.
Centrally located in the heart of Papago Park, Desert Botanical Garden is a beautiful natural setting for an elegant celebration. The Garden is one of Arizona’s most inspiring wedding venues. It rests on the border of Scottsdale, Tempe, and Phoenix. This venue offers many different spaces that couples can utilize for the different parts of a wedding.
Whether couples want a small, intimate gathering or a large, luxurious celebration, this venue can host events of all types. With many indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from, this venue can host daytime or sunset ceremonies and receptions for gatherings of up to 250 guests.
Couples can choose from four main event spaces. The Amphitheater and Binns Wildflower Pavilion feature beautiful desert plants and scenic views of the Papago Buttes. This space can host up to 100 seated guests.
The Steele Herb Garden is enchanting, with impressive views of Arizona sunsets and the surrounding buttes. This area can accommodate up to 75 seated guests. The Webster Center can host up to 150 seated guests and includes the Ullman Terrace, Eliot Patio, and Webster Auditorium.
The Dorrance Center includes the Boppart Courtyard, Dorrance Hall, and Kitchell Patio. It can accommodate 250-400 seated guests.

Catering must be provided by one of the venue’s seven preferred caterers. Bar services are available for an additional fee.
